Co-Sponsor and Exhibit Location Search

The exhibit occurs each Spring in a new location in our region.  Currently we are searching for a location for the Spring 2009 exhibit.  E-mail mara@nwrdc.org if your organization is interested in being co-sponsor.

Call for Entries

The Call for Entries form is mailed to area visual artists and high school art teachers by the end of January each year.  The Entry form lists the deadline date for our receipt of the form, usually in February.  The deadline date is approximately one month prior to the exhibition dates.  No entries will be accepted after the deadline date.  The date is a postmark deadline.

Adult and high school or college artists can enter up to two pieces of artwork on the call for entries form.  To be eligible a work must have been completed within the last five years and not have been accepted into a previous Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit.

Due to our reduced funding at the Arts Council this year there will be a small entry fee. This program is sponsored by funding to the Northwest Regional Arts Council by the McKnight Foundation.  An on-line entry card with 2008 dates will be available in January 2008.

Exhibit Schedule Outline

A juror or committee will determine which pieces will be part of the exhibit from the slides or photographs you submit with your entry form. Selected work must be delivered to the exhibition site, framed correctly, on Monday evening  (exact times and dates will be determined later).  The juror will select which pieces are awarded prizes on Tuesday morning.  Artwork will be displayed for the public viewing Tuesday through Sunday or Monday depending on location.  An artist reception and award ceremony will occur on Sunday at approximately 3:00 p.m. or Monday at 6:30 pm depending on location.  All artwork must be picked up immediately following the artist reception.

For More Information

If you are interested in participating please e-mail mara@nwrdc.org to put your name on a list to receive the form when it is available.  The Call for Entries form will be available on this site for printing through Acrobat Reader on January 1, 2008.   An on-line entry card is available and will be updated when the dates are known.
