OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Some opportunities that are offered from the Arts Council annually include our Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition, training workshops, arts advice on-line, assistance with work sample creation, our Newsletter, and our Directory.

In order to help you determine what programs and services that we provide assist you - we have listed them according to perspective visitor type.  These web site visitors include adult individual artists, high school student artists, teachers, public schools, home school groups, arts organizations, cities, non-profit organizations, legislators, and press. 

ARTS ORGANIZATIONS

  • Apply for funding for arts projects through our Production Assistance/Sponsorship Grant category

  • Apply for funding for equipment purchases through our Small Capital Grant category

  • Think about co-sponsoring the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition in your community.

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Arts Advocate of the Year Award

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Artist of the Year Award

  • Request a site visit from Arts Council Director, Mara Wittman, to talk to your board about Arts Council programs and services.

  • Get assistance on creating a basic web site for your organization

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS and CITIES: 

  • Apply for funding for arts projects through our Production Assistance/Sponsorship Grant category

  • Think about co-sponsoring the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition in your community.

  • View public art examples for inspiration.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS: 

  • Apply for funding for arts residencies through our Artists in the Schools Grant category

  • Think about co-sponsoring the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition in your community.

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Arts Advocate of the Year Award

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Artist of the Year Award

  • Promote the Artist Training Mentorship grant category to your high school students

  • Encourage entries into the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition from your high school visual artists

  • Request a site visit from Arts Council Director, Mara Wittman, to talk to students and teachers about Arts Council programs and services. 

HOME SCHOOL GROUPS: 

  • Apply for funding for arts residencies through our Production Assistance/Sponsorship Grant category

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Arts Advocate of the Year Award

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Artist of the Year Award

  • Encourage high school age students to apply in the Artist Training Mentorship grant category

  • Encourage entries into the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition from your high school age visual artists

TEACHERS: 

  • Apply for funding for arts residencies in your classroom through our Artists in the Schools Grant category

  • Look at the Northwest Artist Directory for artists who could work with students.

  • Look to the

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Arts Advocate of the Year Award

  • Nominate candidates for the Northwest Artist of the Year Award

  • Encourage high school age students to apply in the Artist Training Mentorship grant category

  • Encourage entries into the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition from your high school age visual artists

  • Consider hosting the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition at your school.

  • Research grant opportunities at the Minnesota State Arts Board, including the Challenge grant program.

ADULT INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS:

  • Apply for funding through our Artist Fellowship Grant

  • Complete the entry form for the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition (visual artists)

  • Complete the Artist Registry Form so you can be included in the Directory

  • Complete the extra form to be part of a juried process to become associated with the Land of the Dancing Sky brand name

  • Nominate a candidate for the Northwest Artist of the Year Award

  • Check out the Grants and Opportunities available from the Minnesota State Arts Board

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ARTISTS: 

  • Apply for funding through our Student Artist Training Mentor Grant

  • Complete the entry form for the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibition

  • Complete the Artist Registry Form so you can be included in the Directory
