Artists of Northwest Minnesota

a marketing booklet for visual artists

Northwest Minnesota Arts Council - 115 South Main - Warren, MN 56762

Thirty three artists have been selected by a juror to participate in a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 bound booklet to market their artwork.  The booklet will be printed as early as July of 2008.  A design artist is being sought to design and format the booklet for printing.  The booklet will be full color with a glossy finish.  We will be printing 3,000 copies for distribution over the next three years.

Request for Proposals from Design Artists

Design artists should submit their design concept for the booklet, to our office by May 16, 2008 (extended from March 14, 2008).  The draft should be completed professionally on a computer, so our panel will be able to make a good selection.  Included with the draft should be a timeline for completion of the project by July 30, 2008 and the contract artist fee required to complete the job.  Please include your business card with contact information.  Only residents of the Minnesota counties Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau are eligible for this design contract.

Specifics for the Design

The front outside cover needs to include the text Artists of Northwest Minnesota as well as A Selection of Artists and Art Sites in Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau Counties and one featured image.

The inside cover will be a page devoted to credits for the booklet project.  The first page will be a title page.  The second page will be an introduction page.

The next group of pages should have two artists featured per page.  Each artist will have one sample image, their name, home town, title of the piece, dimensions, contact number, email, website, and artist statement.

The last page of the booklet will be a map of arts sites in our counties.  The back inside cover will be a list of arts sites in our counties that relate to the map.    The back outside cover will be suggested by the design artist.

Below is the cover of a similar booklet created two years ago in north central Minnesota.  This booklet is at our office in Warren and can be viewed as an example of a very successful design.
