NWRDC's Programs and Services


Programs

  • Area Agency on Aging: Support the dignity and independence of older persons.
  • Arts Council: Promote, stimulate and support arts activities.
  • Economic Development: Facilitate the private sector in creation of new jobs, including housing issues.
  • Enterprise Fund: Provide a source of lower interest, gap financing to new and expanding business.
  • Local Issues: To place special emphasis on locally defined issues which impact the economic and social well being of the area.  Including data and statistics, tourism (Tourism Directory) and web site development, GIS mapping, and land use planning.
  • Transportation: Support transportation planning, coordination, issues analysis and project development in the region.

Services

  • Loans to business and industry through the Enterprise Fund

  • Grant programs in Aging and Arts

  • Technical assistance and coordination in all program areas

  • Directories on services, arts, aging, tourism and manufactures

  • Information and referral

  • Regional planning and priority setting in Aging, Arts, Economic Development and Transportation

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Land Use Planning Information Systems

  • Grant writing

  • Local development plans

  • Land use planning for local units of government

  • Surveys and special studies

  • Data and statistics

  • Coordination of services and funding agencies

  • Input on legislative and governmental policy issues

  • Other Services as Requested
