Northwest Regional Development Commission (NWRDC) is looking for a dedicated Finance Director who is responsible for developing and maintaining the agency budget and internal accounting systems and fiscal agency activities in compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will drive system innovation, optimize for effective and efficient financial and payroll services while maintaining fiscal stewardship.

What type of individual are we looking for?
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and 3 to 5 years’ experience in public accounting preferred. Equivalent experience in the financial management of public funds may be substituted for education.
Experience in a Federal and State funded public agency, automated financial systems, auditing procedures, federal and state reporting requirements or budgeting procedures is desirable.
Knowledge and applications in the use of Microsoft office, Accounting or Grant management systems.
Occasional evening or overnight meetings is required.
Willing to consider hybrid work after the training period.
Salary Range: $84,010 to $111,250

What will you be doing?
Establish and maintain an accounting and grant management system that meets current standards for public agencies and the requirements of NWRDC Policies.
Serve as the agency personnel officer for issues related to medical insurance and personal staff issues as requested, assist in all hiring and salary review functions, administration of health insurance and employee benefits.
Prepare the Agency Budget and Indirect Cost Rate based on historical data, program budgets, contracts, the local tax levy, and other financial information and systems.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Board of Directors and Commission and provide reports and other financial information to the Program Directors and the Executive Director as needed.
Maintain agency level compliance with overall budget, financial procedures, audit requirements, and contractual obligations; and report any concerns or violations to Program Directors, the Executive Director, or the NWRDC Board of Directors as needed.
Manage the investment of agency financial resources.
Prepare information for annual audit including the year-end closing entries and other applicable financial analysis.
Assists in establishing long term strategies and planning.
